Algorithm Engineer - InSAR Contractor

Contract Algorithm Engineer (InSAR) C2C or 1099 - Circa 20 hours per week Scope is expected to last approx. 6 months, possibly longer. Contract Algorithm Engineer required for a fast-growing geospatial/AI company focused on operational InSAR solutions and novel AI-driven remote-sensing products. We are seeking a contract engineer with circa 20hr per week availability to solve specific InSAR algorithm and processing problems. This is a delivery-focused role: you will own defined problems, develop a proof-of-concept solution, hand over clear outputs, and (if agreed) support integration with their product/engineering teams. Successful delivery may lead to further scopes or longer collaboration. Key responsibilities • Deliver end-to-end InSAR algorithm solutions • Implement and test InSAR processing/algorithms on representative Sentinel-1 and other SAR datasets (TerraSAR-X, COSMO-SkyMed, etc., as available). • Produce well-documented, production-ready Python code (including Dockerized workflows) and maintain clean Git repositories. • Run algorithms on Linux-based systems; provide reproducible processing pipelines and clear output deliverables (reports, maps, figures). • Provide regular status updates and technical handover to internal engineering/product teams; participate in brief technical syncs as required. Must-have skills and experience • Proven InSAR expertise: hands-on experience developing and delivering InSAR algorithms and processing workflows. • Strong professional Python skills for scientific processing and algorithm development. • Comfortable with Linux environments, Docker, Git, and good coding/documentation practices. • Demonstrated ability to deliver to scope with minimal supervision and produce clear, testable outputs. • Experience working with Sentinel-1 SAR data and InSAR pairing/workflows; exposure to TerraSAR-X / COSMO-SkyMed is a plus. • Ability to communicate technical progress and work with product/engineering teams for integration.
