Role description
We are seeking a skilled Amazon Lex Engineer with strong Java development experience to design, build, and maintain conversational AI solutions. In this role, you will develop intelligent chatbots and voice interfaces using Amazon Lex, integrating them with backend systems, AWS services, and enterprise applications. You’ll work closely with product, UX, and backend engineering teams to deliver seamless and human-like conversational experiences. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, develop, and deploy conversational interfaces using Amazon Lex and AWS Lambda. β€’ Implement Java-based microservices and APIs to integrate Lex bots with enterprise systems and third-party applications. β€’ Utilize AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, S3, and API Gateway for chatbot functionality and scalability. β€’ Collaborate with UX teams to refine dialogue flows, intents, and utterances for optimal user experience. β€’ Develop and maintain backend logic for managing context, user sessions, and stateful conversations. β€’ Monitor and optimize bot performance using analytics, logs, and A/B testing. β€’ Integrate Amazon Lex with platforms like Amazon Connect, Slack, Teams, or custom web apps. β€’ Ensure high-quality, testable, and maintainable code following best practices in Java development. β€’ Stay current with advancements in AI/ML, NLP, and AWS technologies to enhance conversational capabilities. Qualifications Required: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). β€’ 3+ years of professional software development experience in Java. β€’ Hands-on experience building and deploying chatbots using Amazon Lex. β€’ Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture and services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, and CloudFormation. β€’ Experience integrating RESTful APIs and microservices with conversational interfaces. β€’ Proficiency with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies. Preferred: β€’ Experience with Amazon Connect or voice bot integration. β€’ Familiarity with Python or Node.js for AWS Lambda functions. β€’ Knowledge of AWS AI/ML services (Comprehend, Polly, Transcribe, Bedrock). β€’ Experience with monitoring tools and chatbot analytics.
