• Pay Rate: $34 – $41 per hour
• Employment Eligibility: W2 employment only
Position Summary
The Patch Analyst I is responsible for tracking, assessing, and executing the distribution of security releases, including patches, updates, and upgrades, across company‑owned infrastructure such as server environments and third‑party software. This role independently manages patch lifecycle activities, maintains audit‑ready documentation, generates compliance and operational reports, and ensures adherence to established change management and regulatory processes. The position supports vulnerability remediation activities, coordinates mitigation plans with business areas, and escalates risks when deadlines or compliance requirements are at risk.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Track and document security releases from receipt through assessment, implementation, validation, or mitigation
• Report on SLA adherence for patch implementation and mitigation deadlines
• Coordinate with technical teams and application owners to evaluate releases and schedule implementation activities
• Document service and change requests with appropriate dates and supporting evidence within configuration management and change control processes
• Monitor mitigation plans and implementation deadlines, escalating risks when required timelines are at risk
• Ensure patch management activities remain compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Generate recurring patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, and aging reports
• Maintain accurate metrics related to patch distribution performance, compliance status, SLA adherence, and risk exposure
• Use automated tools to evaluate applicable patches and validate remediation status
• Develop clear, actionable operational and compliance reports
• Support audit and regulatory activities by compiling and validating required documentation
• Participate in patch compliance and coordination meetings, providing clear status updates
• Assist with process improvement initiatives related to patch tracking, reporting, and compliance workflows
• Work with subject matter experts to apply patches according to established procedures while respecting operational constraints
Qualifications (Required)
• Hands‑on experience supporting or administering Windows and Linux server environments
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and patch lifecycle management
• Experience supporting vulnerability remediation processes
• Knowledge of operationalizing security requirements
• Understanding of configuration management and change control processes
• Experience generating patching or compliance metrics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas
• Ability to work independently within defined workflows
• Strong documentation discipline in audit‑sensitive or regulated environments
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and escalate risks appropriately
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Experience working in regulated or critical infrastructure environments
• IT auditing or information security background
• Cyber vulnerability management experience
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable or Nessus
• Experience with reporting dashboards or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Entry‑level security certifications (e.g., Security+)
