Role description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is looking for a Data Analytics Analyst to support the Internal Audit organization at one of our large financial services clients. This individual will partner closely with auditors to develop analytics solutions to business challenges, supporting audit planning, control testing, and issue validation. This role is highly analysisβfocused and requires someone who can understand what is happening in the business, how data flows through systems, and how to extract and analyze data in support of business objectives. Key Responsibilities Include: Partner directly with auditors to understand business processes, system/application flows, and audit objectives Translate audit questions into clear, defensible analytical approaches Write, review, and modify SAS and SQL scripts used to analyze large, complex financial datasets Perform extensive data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability Help identify repeatable, annual audit use cases that can be automated or reused yearβoverβyear Provide analytical solutions and recommendations, not just outputs
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong experience in a Data Analytics role Must understand SAS and be able to read, edit, and modify existing code Strong familiarity with SAS environments Strong SQL experience including: SQL scripting for analysis and validation Comfortable translating openβended business or audit questions into structured analytical solutions
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Python (scripting, automation) Alteryx Automation mindset and experience streamlining repeatable analyses Prior experience identifying recurring audit use cases and building reusable analytics
