Overview
This Analytics Engineer supports the modernization of BI and data modeling ecosystems, operating at the intersection of data engineering and analytics.
This role focuses on building scalable, well-structured data models, refactoring BI semantic layers, and supporting BI and data platform migrations.
Type: Contract, Remote,

• Must be in and work in PST time zone
Schedule: Regular day hours, PST time zone
Duration: 5+ months expected
Pay: $45 - $50/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible
Analytics Engineer Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field
• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering
• Advanced SQL with the ability to work across complex data models
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts
• Hands-on experience with Looker / LookML, including semantic layers, explores, and dashboards
• Experience refactoring or rebuilding BI layers and supporting BI migrations
• Familiarity with a modern data stack (e.g., dbt, Airflow, or similar)
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and/or Redshift
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders
• Exposure to data replication or system integrations is a plus (e.g., source databases to cloud warehouse)
• Python or scripting experience preferred
Analytics Engineer Duties
• Design and build clean, scalable data models to support BI and analytics
• Refactor and simplify BI semantic layers, improving usability and performance
• Lead and support BI migrations, including dashboard rebuilds
• Translate business requirements into reliable, self-service datasets
• Partner with stakeholders to define metrics, standardize definitions, and align reporting logic
• Build and maintain ELT pipelines across the data stack
• Support data platform migration and replication efforts
• Identify and resolve data quality, performance, and integrity issues
• Establish and promote best practices for data modeling, documentation, and governance
• Own and maintain business logic across analytics workflows end to end
