Role description
Core Job Requirements
β’ 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or advanced BI within a modern data stack
β’ Strong SQL skills with experience building scalable, well-structured datasets
β’ Hands-on experience with dbt (or similar) for modeling, testing, and documentation
β’ Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred), including performance tuning and cost awareness
β’ Solid understanding of analytics engineering best practices:
β’ Star and snowflake schemas
β’ Incremental models
β’ Fact/dimension modeling
β’ Medallion architecture
β’ Experience working in a CI/CD environment (version control, code reviews, deployments)
β’ Proven ability to partner with operations teams to turn business needs into reliable data models and reporting
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Critical Facilities / Operations Domain (Required)
β’ Experience supporting critical facilities, facilities operations, or manufacturing operations
β’ Strong understanding of operational data, including:
β’ Capacity, utilization, and availability metrics
β’ Asset performance, uptime/downtime, and maintenance data
β’ Work orders, incident tracking, and operational KPIs
β’ Forecasting, planning, and variance analysis tied to operations
β’ Experience working with data from CMMS, IoT systems, or operational platforms
β’ Ability to design and support operational dashboards and reporting used by:
β’ Facilities leadership
β’ Operations and engineering teams
β’ Capacity and planning teams
β’ Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving operational data, building trust through validation and consistent modeling
Commercial Real Estate / Data Center Experience (Strong Preference)
β’ Experience in data centers, critical facilities, or asset-heavy environments strongly preferred
β’ Familiarity with:
β’ Site, building, campus, and regional hierarchies
β’ Capacity constraints (power, space, cooling, etc.)
β’ Utilization and availability tracking
β’ Experience modeling data across multiple physical and operational layers
β’ Ability to align analytics with real-world operational constraints is a strong plus
Technical & Platform Skills
β’ Advanced SQL and strong data modeling skills
β’ dbt (models, tests, macros, documentation)
β’ Snowflake (query optimization, usage patterns, access controls)
β’ Experience integrating data from SaaS and operational systems using ELT tools (Fivetran, Stitch, etc.)
β’ Familiarity with data quality, metadata management, and lineage
Professional & Communication Skills
β’ Strong business understanding with the ability to frame data in operational and facilities context
β’ Clear communicator who can work with:
β’ Facilities and operations teams
β’ Engineering and maintenance teams
β’ Data engineering and platform teams
β’ Ability to create clear, usable documentation for data models and metrics
β’ High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and reliability
β’ Comfortable working in complex environments with multiple upstream systems
