Role description
Role: Analytics Engineer Length: 6 months Rate: £550 - £600 Inside IR35 Location: London Contract requirement for a hands-on Analytics Engineer on a 6-month contract for a London Market broker. This is a role for a self-motivated, proactive self-starter, to support the business as it enters a modernisation journey towards a cloud platform. You will work with on-prem SQL Server writing complex SQ queries, develop Python and open-source analytics solutions, and help migrate scripts and workflows to GitHub as part of this transformation. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, maintain, and optimise SQL Server databases and queries. • Build Python scripts and open-source solutions to enhance reporting and analytics. • Support the migration of existing workflows and code to GitHub, enabling version-controlled, reproducible analytics. • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. • Assist in transitioning from traditional on-premises processes to modern, scalable solutions. Requirements: • Strong experience with SQL Server and writing complex SQL queries. • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation. • Familiarity with GitHub or other version control systems. • Experience with open-source analytics tools is a plus. • Previous experience in financial services or insurance is advantageous but not essential.
