Analytics Lead

Interim Analytics Lead / Analytics Engineer £450-£500 Outside IR35 2 days per month in London (Fuel / travel expenses covered) 6-Month Contract | London / Hybrid | Immediate Start We’re supporting a fast-growing AI / SaaS scale-up looking for an experienced contractor to join on an initial 6-month basis and help lead the next phase of their analytics and reporting capability. This is not a greenfield data engineering build. The business already has a modern data stack in place, including: • Cloud data warehouse • Analytics engineering layer • Dbt / semantic models • Established Power BI reporting estate The challenge now is to take what already exists and elevate it. They need someone who can come in quickly, work across multiple business functions, and help bring structure, consistency and clarity to an evolving reporting environment. What you’ll be doing • Review and rationalise an existing Power BI estate • Consolidate duplicated / overlapping dashboards • Sharpen KPI definitions and metric consistency • Improve reporting adoption and self-serve capability • Partner with Product, Sales, Customer Success and Finance / RevOps • Deliver new dashboards and insights where required • Work closely with the existing data engineering / platform setup • Understand and refine upstream data models where needed This is a highly hands-on, business-facing role that sits between analytics delivery and analytics engineering. What we’re looking for • Strong Power BI dashboard and reporting capability • Advanced SQL • Strong understanding of dbt, data modelling, semantic layers and KPI logic • Working knowledge of Python for analytics / data logic / reviewing existing scripts • Strong stakeholder management across multiple teams • Ability to work at pace in fast-moving SaaS / startup / scale-up environments • Ability to translate business questions into clear, decision-ready reporting Ideal background We’re particularly interested in profiles who have worked in: • SaaS / subscription businesses • Product-led technology environments • Scale-ups / startups • Analytics engineering / BI lead roles • First or early data hires This role would suit someone who enjoys operating as a player-coach hands-on in Power BI and SQL, with enough engineering understanding to work across the wider data stack.
