API Architect || USC , GC

Roles & Responsibilities: Architect and implement API solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. Design low-latency, high-throughput APIs for handling large data volumes and streaming data. Define and enforce API standards, documentation, and best practices across development teams. Work with protobuf (Protocol Buffers) for efficient serialization and data transfer. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless API integration with backend and frontend systems. Conduct performance analysis, tuning, and optimization of existing API solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams on API design and implementation. Partner with data engineering and BI teams to ensure APIs support analytics and business reporting needs. Stay current with emerging API technologies, frameworks, and cloud-native integration patterns. Must Have Skills: Strong hands-on experience in API architecture and design Deep understanding of protobuf formats and low-latency systems Proven experience working with large data volumes or streaming data Expertise in API performance tuning and optimization Familiarity with modern API frameworks (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams Experience with BI tools or data integration frameworks is a plus Job Type: Contract Pay: $51.65 - $60.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Flexible schedule Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Work Location: In person
