Overview: A top-tier global consulting and professional services organization is seeking a highly skilled API Developer to architect and deliver enterprise-grade API solutions for a fast-moving, strategic initiative. This role requires hands-on development expertise and API architecture mastery. The ideal candidate brings extensive Spring Boot and microservices experience, excels in designing scalable and secure API ecosystems, and thrives in collaborative, high-demand environments.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale, high-availability APIs using Java & Spring Boot
β’ Architect and optimize microservices-based solutions and distributed systems
β’ Define API standards and best practices for versioning, documentation, and resiliency
β’ Ensure secure API design with OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS and enterprise compliance frameworks
β’ Collaborate with platform, security, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery
β’ Drive performance optimization, load handling, and monitoring for mission-critical services
β’ Mentor team members and support technical troubleshooting and solution delivery
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
β’ 5+ years professional experience in Java development with strong Spring Boot expertise
β’ Proven track record architecting scalable, high-availability API platforms
β’ Deep knowledge of RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, error handling, and versioning
β’ Strong security implementation skills: OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS
β’ Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems architectures
β’ Advanced proficiency with SQL & NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
β’ Experience with DevOps/Cloud tools and platforms: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP
Preferred Traits:
β’ Strong architectural and documentation skills
β’ Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
β’ Ability to drive delivery under tight timelines with a high level of ownership
