The AppDynamics Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining AppDynamics to provide deep observability into applications, infrastructure, and user experience. This role develops dashboards, health rules, and alerts to monitor performance, detect issues proactively, and support incident response. The engineer partners with developers, SREs, and operations teams to analyze telemetry, optimize application performance, and improve system reliability. Strong expertise in AppDynamics administration, instrumentation, and performance monitoring is essential. This role requires hand on keyboard related to the tool and Operating system.
Must-Have skills for the role:
• Deep expertise and hands on AppDynamics deployment, troubleshooting, configuration
• Deep hands-on expertise in Splunk Enterprise deployment, troubleshooting, configuration
Nice-to-have skills:
• Dynatrace
• Grafana
Responsibilities:
• Install and configure AppDynamics Controllers, Agents, and Extensions for applications, databases, servers, and network devices.
• Set up Application Flow Maps, Business Transactions, and Tiers/Nodes to reflect the logical architecture of enterprise applications.
• Analyze application performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, thread contention, and slow transactions using AppDynamics dashboards and transaction snapshots.
• Build custom REST API integrations for data extraction, reporting, or automation workflows
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for AppDynamics within the organization.
• Create KPI dashboards for leadership visibility into application and business performance.
• Evaluate monitoring coverage gaps and ensure business-critical transactions are tracked.
