Appian BPM Developer with Appian Certification (only US Citizen )

Appian Developer / Certified Appian BPM Developer Location - Washington DC (Hybrid) Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and Appian Certified Developer to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-grade Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow automation solutions using the Appian platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Appian application development, process automation, system integrations, and low-code application delivery within Agile environments. The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and cross-functional technical teams to deliver scalable and high-performing Appian applications that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications using the Appian low-code platform. • Build and configure Appian components including: • SAIL Interfaces • Process Models • Records • Reports • Sites • Expression Rules • Integrations • Decision Rules • Develop scalable BPM and workflow automation solutions aligned with business requirements. • Integrate Appian applications with external systems using REST APIs, SOAP services, SQL, web services, and middleware technologies. • Create reusable components, frameworks, and best practices for Appian development. • Participate in requirements gathering, technical design discussions, and solution architecture reviews. • Optimize Appian application performance, scalability, and security. • Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support and enhancements. • Collaborate with QA teams for testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities. • Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, and support documentation. • Support CI/CD processes and DevOps practices for Appian deployments. • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, governance, and security standards. • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. • Appian Certified Developer certification is mandatory. • 3+ years of hands-on Appian development experience. • Strong expertise in: • Appian BPM • SAIL • Process Modeling • Appian Records • Integration Objects • Appian Sites • Experience with Appian version upgrades and deployment activities. • Strong understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. • Experience with web services, REST/SOAP APIs, and system integrations. • Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, SQL, or other supporting technologies is preferred. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer Certification preferred. • Experience with Appian Cloud environments. • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps. • Experience integrating Appian with enterprise platforms such as: • Salesforce • SAP • ServiceNow • AWS/Azure • Exposure to RPA, AI/ML integrations, or workflow modernization initiatives. • Experience working in Banking, Healthcare, Insurance, Government, or Manufacturing domains.
