Appian On-Prem Installation Specialist — AWS (Part-Time, Remote)

The Role We're looking for a senior DevOps engineer to perform a full Appian on-premise installation on AWS. This is a solo engagement — you will own the install end-to-end with no internal team to lean on for setup, troubleshooting, or environment work. If you've never done an Appian install start to finish on your own, this isn't the right fit. What you'll do • Stand up an Appian on-premise environment on AWS infrastructure • Configure the application server, web tier, data server, and search server • Handle Tomcat configuration, JVM tuning, and service hardening • Get the environment to a stable, tested running state and hand off documentation Required • Hands-on experience installing Appian on-premise (Linux or Windows) — at least one full install you owned, ideally more • Strong AWS fundamentals (EC2, VPC, security groups, IAM, EBS, networking) • Deep Tomcat experience and comfort with similar Java application servers • Linux administration (RHEL preferred, since that's Appian's primary supported OS) • Ability to work fully independently — no team check-ins, you drive the install Nice to have • Multiple Appian environments under your belt (dev, test, prod separations) • Experience with Appian upgrades and patching Logistics • Part-time contract • Remote • Rate: negotiable • Estimated hours: TBD • Applicants must be based in the United States
