Contracting Opportunity: Application Business Analyst (Consulting Role)

Overview:
We are an Asset Management company seeking an experienced Application Business Analyst for a short-term consulting engagement focused on assessing and documenting the current state of our enterprise software application portfolio. The consultant will play a key role in laying the foundation for a strategic transformation of our application landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive inventory of all software applications currently in use across the organization.
- Collect and analyze relevant documentation including contracts, vendor agreements, and budget commitments.
- Identify and engage with business owners and key users to understand application usage and business value.
- Document core functionality of each application, including known gaps and limitations.
- Identify and catalog key data elements handled by each application, with emphasis on regulated customer data.
- Map out business workflows supported by applications, distinguishing between automated and manual processes.
- Document application interfaces, both automated and manual, and assess integration points.
- Analyze overlaps in data, functionality, and business processes across applications.
- Define support requirements for each application, including vendor dependencies and internal resources.
Deliverables:
- A detailed current-state application portfolio report.
- A gap analysis highlighting inefficiencies, redundancies, and risks.
- Foundational documentation to support the development of a future-state application strategy aligned with business goals.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years with deep dive strategic applications business analysis experience.
- Proven experience in enterprise application analysis and business process mapping.
- Experience with CRM applications.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and interviewing skills.
- Familiarity with data governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Financial industry experience a huge plus.
