Role description

β’ 4+ Years of Experience providing custom enterprise application support and services.
β’ Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.
β’ Experience with application/server monitoring and related tools (New Relic a plus).
β’ Windows and Linux Server Administration, working knowledge of NTFS, Group Policy, or Active Directory Programming/scripting knowledge (SQL, python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.).
β’ Able and willing to work a hybrid schedule in Hartford, CT (1 day per week in office required). Open to candidates who can relocate without relocation assistance (package will not be provided.).

β’ Expertise with IBM Websphere Application Server, Enterprise Service Bus IIB, or Message Broker.
β’ Previous state agency experience.

Job Description
An employer is seeking an Application Hosting Engineer to join their team. This will position will require someone to be on-site once a week in Hartford. This position is open because this state executive department is moving more towards automation and is building out a DevOps team to help the department move away from their current manual processes and move towards DevOps and automation.
The Application Hosting Engineer will assist with the implementation, hosting, and ongoing support for the company's health insurance exchange (Access Health CT), Enterprise Applications, and their respective environments. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of IT experience including development, testing, and infrastructure across all areas of the Software Development Life Cycle. This role focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment, and upgrade processes for the company's hosted enterprise applications.
The role will be responsible for the operations and operating environment for the DevOps platforms and will drive troubleshooting efforts around incidents and outages. This person will be responsible for creating and implementing automated processes with a DevOps mindset, deploy product updates, identify production issues, and implement integrations to meet business needs and standards.
From an application hosting perspective, this person will handle the installation and configuration of software products such as IBM Websphere, Adobe AEM, Informatica, Batch, IIB, and other products as needed. They will also need to test and troubleshoot web and application server issues, handle over enterprise application health, and deploy Enterprise Application code packages using manual and automated processes. This resource will be in charge of continuously monitoring the applications and their respective environments and infrastructure, while resolving technical problems quickly. This resource will also be responsible for documentation and communication for all appropriate information related to application hosting and support efforts in written and verbal format. This includes creating, modifying, and maintaining application and technology process flow diagrams.
Compensation: $40-45/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
