About The Role
This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.
FDM is seeking an Application Support Analyst located in NYC to support a client in the financial services industry. Involvement in this project is in-person and anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.
Job Summary
Application Support
Responsible for maintaining application systems for capital markets and investment group that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Support the day-to-day operations of the EQD trading systems and be a go-to person for Trader support.
• Analyze and verify issues, debug logs, draft requirement or solution, track resolution, verify and implement.
• Provide technical expertise to internal teams regarding in-house- Execution Management System (EMS) that allows traders to interact with the market place to execute orders.
• Prepare internal systems for the rollout of the new platforms and tools, while efficiently and effectively resolving complex system integration issues.
• Day to day activities
• Monitoring ITRS to make sure healthy prod environment and stability.
• Onboarding of new client setup
• Daily BAU tasks (e.g. investigating order rejects)
• Handling queries from Trading desk, Risk, Compliance and operations.
• Running SQL queries to fetch trades or create reports.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
• Experience working on trading desk; supporting OMS\EMS systems. Experience working on FIX systems.
• Proficiency in LINUX terminal, must be able to seamlessly navigate the LINUX terminal, query logs, modify scripts, etc.
• Ability to script in SQL and any of the following Batch, perl, shell, Powershell, Python prefered.
• Must be self-driven, highly motivated and must have “will get it done” attitude.
• Must be willing to attend team phone calls with overseas colleagues from time to time (early morning [6 AM] or late evening [8 PM] )
Skills:
• Understanding of basic trading workflow.
• Understanding needs from trading desk for issues and new requirements and liaise with other teams (internal/external) to get it developed/fixed and deliver to traders.
• Testing complex scenario in test environment, identify the issues, log the issue and follow up with developer on release and implement the change.
• Basic understanding of Network.
