We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer/Policy SME to support a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting the governance process. In this role, this person will work closely with the ODNI CDO & CAIO to create AI governance policy based on experience and real-world considerations and provide hands-on work dealing with AI models for prototyping, training, inference, and deployment. The customer is seeking a subject matter expert, creating and translating trend analyses, and facilitate stakeholder decision-making, policy, and governance pertaining to current and emerging AI technology.
The selected candidate should have experience in more than one of the requirements below:
Be an expert in the field of AI with an in-depth knowledge of AI architecture and development
Experience translating highly technical concepts into policy and governance documents
Have in depth experience with collaborating with various IC Partners on policy and governance
Have an expertise in one or more of the following subfields, or similar subfield: ethics, policy, or law pertaining to AI and emerging technology.
Be forward leaning, recommending necessary improvements to achieve the customerβs vision
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI technologies
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required
Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience
Experience establishing AI policy and governance documents for existing and emerging AI technology
5+ years collaborating with various Intel Community (IC) partners including non-DoD IC elements on information sharing
Experience with specific AI applications including NLP, LLM, GenAI, RAG, Agentic AI use cases
Experience in at least two of the following fields: AI development, AI architecture, AI policy, AI engineering, AI ethics & laws, and emerging technology
Experience collaborating with data scientists and other AI related stakeholders
Desired Skills:
Experience with Python, R, SQL, Jupyter, MLOps, AI/ML services (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Amazon Q, Azure ML Studio, CoPilot Studio, Google BigQuery, Oracle ML) leveraging cloud service provider(s) (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google)
Experience with designing, developing, and implementing AI models
Experience with optimizing and deploying AI solutions
