Role description
AI Software Engineer – Level 3 & Level 4 Location: Cambridge, MA (100% Onsite) Schedule: 9x80 work week Duration: 12-month contract with potential extension (W2 only) About the Role We are seeking talented AI Software Engineers to join a cutting-edge initiative focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence into avionics software development. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-tech, fast-paced environment and contribute to next-generation aerospace solutions. Responsibilities β€’ Design, develop, document, and implement AI algorithms and models using industry-standard tools and methods. β€’ Leverage AI technologies to accelerate software development and testing processes. β€’ Collect, clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to ensure quality and reliability. β€’ Test, debug, and optimize AI models and software systems. β€’ Integrate and deploy scalable AI models into production environments. β€’ Monitor and improve in-production AI models for performance and compliance. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and domain experts to gather requirements and iterate solutions. β€’ Research and implement emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices. β€’ Ensure ethical considerations and safety risk management in AI model development. Level 3 – Requirements β€’ Education: Bachelor’s degree + 3 years experience OR Master’s degree + 1 year experience in software engineering. β€’ Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or other modern programming languages. β€’ Familiarity with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) preferred. β€’ Strong willingness to adopt AI tools for software development and testing. β€’ Excellent documentation and communication skills. β€’ Ability to work onsite in Cambridge, MA. β€’ Ability to obtain Secret clearance upon hire. β€’ Nice-to-Have: Experience with ADA or avionics software. Level 4 – Additional Requirements β€’ Ability to lead design efforts and mentor junior engineers. β€’ Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Google Test, PyTest). β€’ Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD). β€’ Experience collaborating with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments. β€’ Same technical skills as Level 3, with added leadership and integration expertise. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
