Role description
Job Description:
This is a technical role that will report to the Director, Data Analytics Engineering, and will be responsible for assisting in designing and implementing technical solutions for the programs that oversee compliance with regulatory and internal control environment. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the automation of the organizationβs control testing program by working with business stakeholders to establish data connections to various underlying data sets, as well as establishing, creating, and maintaining data connections, dashboards, and other solutions related to the departmentβs monitoring and surveillance program, including reports to management and the Board, while following development best practices.
Location: Chicago, IL (3 days per week onsite)
Employment Type: Permanent (Perm only)
Experience Required: 3β5 years (plus 2+ years financial services preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, build, and maintain automated workflows that enable data extraction, processing, and conversion to standardized data models.
β’ Develop and maintain data pipelines that ensure end-to-end process automation related to different aspects of the Compliance program.
β’ Create and maintain department dashboards and other monitoring solutions.
β’ Implement automated and sustainable reporting for a variety of audiences including management, the Chief Compliance Officer, the Board of Directors, and regulators.
β’ Support analytics framework by following best practices in code review, testing, documentation and technical writing.
β’ Optimize existing technologies and data sets and develop new solutions to drive analyses and inform decision-making for Compliance.
β’ Analyze overall analytics processes strategically and provide comprehensive solutions on a design architecture level.
β’ Escalate issues to the Director, Data Analytics Engineering, as needed.
β’ Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills:
β’ Must come from financial services industry
β’ Strong programming skills in data analytics, data extraction, manipulation, and processing
β’ Advanced SQL skills with complex query writing
β’ Experience with REST APIs and data extraction
β’ Experience working with large and complex datasets
β’ Dashboarding experience (Tableau or similar tools)
β’ Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles
β’ Knowledge of data architecture and data modeling
β’ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
β’ Proficiency in Python (Pandas/Numpy), R, or MATLAB
β’ Experience with workflow/orchestration tools (Airflow, Alteryx, Power BI, etc.)
β’ Experience with Git and Agile methodology
β’ Exposure to Agentic AI / Generative AI tools (preferred)
β’ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Additional Requirements:
β’ Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder
β’ Must be open for in-person interview in Chicago
β’ Must be willing to work 3 days per week onsite in Chicago office
