Role description
Business Execution Consultant II/III - Automation Analyst Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN Contract: 6-month W2 contract 40 hours/week, weekly pay Pay Rate: $44-$60/hr, depending on level and experience Start Date: ASAP / early to mid-June target Overview Calculated Hire is hiring multiple Business Execution Consultants to support a large-scale automation and process transformation initiative with a leading financial services client. This team is focused on replacing manual and legacy processes with low-code automation tools, primarily Alteryx and Xceptor. These roles will help internal teams move automation projects forward by building, modifying, troubleshooting, and reviewing workflows, while also supporting business users and citizen designers who are still ramping up on these tools. This is not a standard reporting-only role. The ideal candidate will be able to understand current business processes, identify workflow or data gaps, recommend solutions, and help teams move from concept to execution. Job Responsibilities • In this role, you will support automation initiatives using Alteryx and potentially Xceptor, with a focus on workflow buildout, review, troubleshooting, and process improvement. You will work with business users, SMEs, developers, and operations teams to understand current processes, identify automation opportunities, and help resolve blockers within active projects. • This person will support data extraction, transformation, cleansing, enrichment, reconciliation, and reporting workflows across multiple systems. A key part of the role will be reviewing existing workflows to identify missing steps, logic gaps, data issues, or opportunities to improve efficiency. • The team is also looking for someone who can help internal users and citizen designers move forward when they get stuck. This may include reviewing workflow logic, validating outputs, documenting issues, recommending next steps, and helping teams understand how to apply Alteryx or Xceptor effectively within their process. Required Skills • Hands-on experience with Alteryx is required, including building, modifying, supporting, reviewing, or troubleshooting workflows. Candidates should have a strong understanding of data transformation concepts such as joins, filters, formulas, data cleansing, data blending, reconciliation, and workflow validation. • Experience with SQL, Excel, Access databases, Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, ETL tools, or similar data and process automation platforms is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working across both business and technical teams and should bring a practical, solution-oriented approach to problem solving. • This role requires strong communication, documentation, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment. Required Qualifications • BEC II candidates should have 2-5+ years of experience in automation, data analysis, workflow support, process improvement, business analysis, or a related field. • BEC III candidates should have 5-8+ years of experience with deeper ownership of automation solutions, workflow delivery, stakeholder partnership, and project execution. • Candidates must have prior hands-on experience using Alteryx in a professional, project-based, or workflow automation capacity. Candidates must also be comfortable working hybrid, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, in Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN. • Candidates must be able to work directly on W2 for the duration of the contract without sponsorship, transfer support, or any third-party/subcontracting arrangement. Preferred Qualifications • Xceptor experience is highly preferred. Financial services, banking, wealth management, or large enterprise experience is helpful, but not required. • Experience supporting citizen developers, citizen designers, business-led automation teams, legacy system replacement efforts, exception-based workflows, operational reporting, QA, UAT, workflow validation, production readiness, or low-code automation initiatives would also align well with this role. Team / Organization • This role supports a centralized transformation initiative within a large financial services operations group. The team is scaling automation adoption across the organization and helping business teams replace manual or legacy processes with more efficient low-code workflow solutions.
