Role description
Title: AWS Cloud Engineer Location: Torrance, CA Duration: 12 Months Onsite role Job Description: Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Architect with expertise in AWS to lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, microservices, DevOps practices, and AWS services, along with strong programming skills in Java, Python, Node.js, and React.js. This role requires hands-on coding, active mentorship, and the ability to integrate data analysis, BI tools, and basic AI/ML capabilities into cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Architect and design cloud-native applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS, EKS, and more. • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Java, Python, Node.js, and React.js to prototype and implement core architectural components. • Define and document architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines. • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure alignment with architectural vision and scalability goals. • Lead the migration of legacy systems to AWS cloud infrastructure. • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK. • Integrate data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau) into cloud solutions. • Support the development and deployment of basic AI/ML models using AWS services like SageMaker, Comprehend, and Rekognition. • Ensure security, compliance, and performance optimization across all cloud solutions. • Mentor and coach developers on software design, coding standards, AWS best practices, and career development. • Conduct regular code reviews, pair programming sessions, and technical workshops. • Stay current with AWS innovations, BI trends, and emerging AI/ML technologies. Position Success Criteria (Desired) - 'WANTS': Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 10+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years in cloud architecture (AWS). • Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture patterns. • Proficiency in Java, Python, Node.js, and React.js. • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK. • Hands-on experience with BI tools and data visualization platforms. • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and practical implementation using AWS tools. • Proven ability to write production-grade code and lead by example. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred). Preferred Skills: • Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven design. • Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic. • Knowledge of security and privacy frameworks (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA). • Agile/Scrum development experience. • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
