Position Title: Senior Cloud AWS Engineer (EKS / DevOps) Location: Richmond, VA (Remote Option Available) Clearance Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder Position Status: Contract Pay Rate: $85 - $95/hr. Position Description: We are seeking a Senior Cloud AWS Engineer to join a high-impact technology team supporting one of the nation’s most critical financial institutions. In this role, you’ll design, build, and optimize secure cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS services—particularly EKS, Terraform, and Ansible—to support mission-critical systems. You’ll collaborate with top-tier engineering professionals to modernize cloud platforms, drive automation, and ensure the scalability and resilience of enterprise-level systems that power the U.S. economy. This is an excellent opportunity for an AWS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, Agile, DevOps-driven environment and wants to contribute to meaningful, high-visibility projects. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud solutions using EKS, Terraform, and Ansible. • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical infrastructure designs aligned with business and security requirements. • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment pipelines. • Build and maintain containerized environments with Kubernetes (EKS) for high availability and scalability. • Use GitLab and related CI/CD tools to streamline code deployment and version control. • Analyze and optimize existing systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement best practices for performance and cost efficiency. • Support change management, documentation, and compliance with security and audit requirements. • Collaborate cross-functionally to support technical project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including deep expertise in EKS and container orchestration. • Strong proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices. • Experience with Packer or similar tools for building machine images. • Proficiency with GitLab or similar source control and CI/CD tools. • Experience in an Agile / DevOps environment with strong problem-solving and automation mindset. • Solid understanding of system performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a cloud environment. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse technical teams. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience working within federal or financial institutions. • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and risk management principles. • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring junior engineers.
