Job Title: IT Data Engineer (Mid-Level)
Location: Chesterfield, MO 63017
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Work Type: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications and data systems supporting advanced agricultural technologies.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using modern programming languages such as TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Build and support cloud-native applications within the AWS ecosystem.
• Work closely with development leads, stakeholders, and product teams to manage project priorities, deliverables, and timelines.
• Gather and translate business requirements into scalable application features.
• Deploy applications across environments and collaborate with engineering teams for continuous delivery and integration.
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Maintain and improve existing applications by refactoring code and implementing new features.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for system design and architecture.
• Follow modern security practices and data governance standards.
• Participate in evaluating and adopting new technologies and tools.
Must Haves
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience developing REST APIs using modern programming languages such as: TypeScript, JavaScript
• 4+ years of experience building single-page or multi-page web applications.
• 2+ years of experience working with relational or NoSQL databases and abstraction frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience developing within AWS ecosystem, including: Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS
• Experience designing cloud-based software architectures and scalable systems.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices including testing and code quality.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work in dynamic environments and manage ambiguity.
Nice to Have
• Experience developing IoT technologies or distributed systems generating high volumes of data.
• Experience working with event-driven architectures.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as: Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Experience building data platforms or telemetry processing systems.
• Experience working with geospatial or sensor-based data systems.
