Job Title: AWS Data Engineer with Python & PySpark Location: Charlotte, NC 28202 Work Arrangement: Hybrid Employment Type: Contract Duration: 3+ Year Domain: Financial Services & Analytics Pay Rate: $69.00/hr W2 | $84.00/hr C2C Application Deadline: August 24, 2026 SKILLS REQUIRED Primary (Must-Have): • Python | PySpark • AWS Cloud Services | Geospatial Data Solutions Secondary (Good to Have): • Spatial Analytics | Spatial Indexing & Coordinate Transformations POSITION OVERVIEW Seeking an experienced Data Engineer within the Geospatial Analytics Department reporting to the Director of Cloud Engineering to design, build, and optimize cloud-based geospatial data solutions using AWS, PySpark, and Python. This role solves complex spatial analytics and scalable data pipeline challenges to support location intelligence, business decisions, and sustainable urban and environmental initiatives. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Design and implement scalable geospatial data pipelines on AWS that ingest, transform, and store complex spatial datasets to enable reliable analytics. • Develop and maintain high-performing PySpark-based data workflows that process large volumes of location intelligence data and deliver accurate outputs for mapping platforms. • Create efficient Python modules and reusable libraries that handle spatial computations, coordinate transformations, and geospatial business rules. • Configure and manage AWS services for data storage, computation, and orchestration to ensure secure, resilient, and cost-efficient hosting of geospatial solutions. • Optimize geospatial queries and spatial indexing strategies to improve the performance of interactive maps, dashboards, and APIs.
