Databricks Administrator (Systems Analyst 3)
Position Type: Contract | Hybrid (Austin, TX — Local Candidates Only)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central
Note: Must be local to Austin and can share address proof such as DL copy and Must have State client experience.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Databricks Administrator to administer, configure, and support the Databricks platform for scalable data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads. The role ensures platform reliability, security, cost optimization, and compliance while supporting data engineers, analysts, and data scientists across the organization. Responsibilities include managing workspace configuration, cluster policies, user access, cloud service integrations, and ongoing platform monitoring.
Required Skills (8+ Years Each)
• Administering Databricks workspaces in a cloud environment (AWS)
• Databricks cluster configuration, job scheduling, and workspace management
• Managing user access, roles, and permissions using IAM, SCIM, and RBAC
• Apache Spark concepts including performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Integrating Databricks with cloud storage services (e.g., S3)
• Implementing and enforcing cluster policies and workspace governance standards
• Databricks SQL, notebooks, and job orchestration
• Monitoring platform health, performance, and availability
• Data security, encryption, and compliance requirements
• DevOps and automation tools (Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, scripting)
Preferred Skills (4+ Years)
• Administering Databricks in an enterprise or government environment
• Databricks Unity Catalog for data governance and access control
• Cost management and optimization for Databricks workloads
• Supporting AI/ML workloads using Databricks ML and MLflow
• Data lake and lakehouse architecture knowledge
• Python, SQL, or Scala for administration and troubleshooting

Hybrid/Onsite — Austin, TX. Local Austin-area candidates only. Candidates currently out of state or planning to relocate will not be considered. Must already reside in Texas.
