22339 Animed was established in 2010 and sells medicines, pet food and other animal related products to customers across the UK via its website Summary Of Role We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be developing applications within AWS infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our applications. Please note: this is a fully remote position. Key Responsibilities And Tasks • Development: Design and develop scalable, high-performance solutions on AWS, focusing on robust architecture and efficient code. Adhere to coding standards and best practices. • Performance Optimisation: Continuously monitor and optimise AWS resources for performance and security. • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications. • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance requirements across all AWS environments. • Incident Response: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as part of incident response efforts. • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architectures, configurations, processes, and procedures. • Design Patterns: Apply design patterns to ensure code reusability and maintainability. • Unit Testing: Develop and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability. • Test Driven Design: Implement test-driven design (TDD) principles to drive development and ensure robust, error-free code. • Business Requirements: Interpret business requirements and define the scope of work to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives. • Issue Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation of applications. Key Skills Required • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AWS development or a related field. • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB etc.), infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and development tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker). • Advanced scripting skills in languages such as Typescript, Javascript. Preferably Typescript. Other languages considered i.e. Golang. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Understanding of Agile delivery methodology and experience working in Agile teams. • Knowledge of coding standards and best practices. • Familiarity with design patterns and their application in software development. • Experience with unit testing frameworks and tools. • Proficiency in test-driven design (TDD) methodologies. • Ability to interpret business requirements and define the scope of work. • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently. • Experience with AWS OpenSearch is desirable. • Certifications: AWS or similar certification is highly desirable.
