AWS Engineer (Background PHP Job Management & Server Optimization)

Overview:We’re looking for an experienced AWS Engineer with a strong background in managing and optimizing background PHP jobs. Our team is currently addressing some performance and configuration challenges on our AWS environment, and we need an expert who can step in to help stabilize and streamline our setup. Responsibilities: Diagnose and optimize PHP background job processes on AWS. Configure and maintain EC2 instances, RDS, S3, and related AWS services. Improve system reliability, uptime, and job execution efficiency. Review current infrastructure and suggest performance or cost optimizations. Work with our internal development team to implement and document solutions. Requirements: Proven experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, etc.). Strong knowledge of PHP job queues and background process management. Familiarity with Linux server administration and performance tuning. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and independently. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Nice to Have: Experience with Shopify or other eCommerce integrations. Knowledge of Docker or containerized PHP applications. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines on AWS. Project Details:This is a short-term contract (potential for ongoing work) focused on resolving immediate server issues and improving our job handling setup for the Steeldash project.
