AWS Optimization Engineer AUSTIN, Texas & Sunnyvale, CA Job Description: Analyzes AWS usage to cut costs and boost efficiency by right-sizing resources, automating cleanup, implementing Savings Plans/Reserved Instances, and tuning performance, using skills in AWS services (EC2, S3), scripting (Python/Bash), DevOps tools, and data analysis to align cloud spend with business goals Key Skills & Tools: AWS Services: Deep knowledge of EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudWatch. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation. Scripting: Python, Bash, or similar. DevOps: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS). Monitoring: CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer, FinOps. Responsibilities: Resource Optimization: Right-size instances (EC2), optimize storage (S3, EBS), modernize containers (EKS/ECS), and clean up unused resources (snapshots, load balancers). Automation: Build scripts (Python/Bash) and workflows for automated cleanup, anomaly detection, and cost alerts. Collaboration: Partner with developers to implement technical changes, ensuring feasibility and performance.
