Azure AI Engineer – Vector DB Specialist | Robert Half | Remote (UK-based)
Robert Half International (an S&P 500 global staffing provider) is supporting a consulting partner in sourcing an Azure AI Engineer (Vector Database Specialist) to join a next-generation transformation initiative. This role will focus on delivering vector-based search and retrieval solutions leveraging Azure AI and Cognitive Search capabilities within an enterprise data environment.
Assignment Details
• Initial 3-month contract (extensions expected)
• Remote (occasional client site collaboration if required)
• £400–£450 per day plus 12.07% accrual pay via PAYE
Key Skills & Experience
• Proven experience designing and implementing Vector Databases and AI Search solutions (Azure Cognitive Search, Pinecone, FAISS, or Redis Vector).
• Strong understanding of semantic search, embedding generation, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns.
• Integration of vector stores with Azure OpenAI and Cognitive Services for intelligent document and knowledge retrieval.
• Hands-on experience across Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics.
• Proficiency in Python / PySpark for data transformation, embeddings, and AI pipeline orchestration.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and monitoring in Azure enterprise environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to translate business needs into scalable AI-driven solutions.
