Role description
Position Title: Azure AI Lead
Number of Openings: 1
Duration of Contract: 6+ months
Years of Experience: 12-15
seeking a hands-on AI Technical Lead to drive the design and delivery of advanced AI solutions for healthcare and benefits administration clients (TPAs, health plans, and payer organizations).
This role focuses on building LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation to modernize core benefits administration operations, including claims processing, eligibility, enrollment, and provider management.
You will play a key role in delivering AI-led digital transformation initiatives across large-scale benefits administration environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead architecture and delivery of AI/LLM-driven solutions for benefits administration clients
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows using LangGraph / LangChain
• Build and deploy AI services using Python on Microsoft Azure
• Develop RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector-based retrieval systems
• Integrate AI into core benefits administration workflows:
• Claims adjudication and processing
• Enrollment & eligibility
• Benefits configuration and management
• Provider data and network operations
• Work directly with TPA and payer stakeholders to define AI use cases and roadmap
• Ensure solutions meet HIPAA, CMS, and healthcare regulatory requirements
• Establish best practices for LLM evaluation, governance, and hallucination mitigation
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across delivery teams
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with strong focus on AI/LLMs
• Hands-on expertise in Python
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or similar agent orchestration frameworks
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AKS, Functions)
• Experience building RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Proven experience supporting benefits administration / payer environments, including:
• Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)
• Health Plans (Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial)
• Self-funded employer plans
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with benefits administration / core admin platforms (Facets, QNXT, HealthEdge, RAM Technologies, etc.)
• Knowledge of FHIR / HL7 standards
• Experience building AI copilots, automation tools, or decision-support systems
• Familiarity with data platforms and pipelines (ADF, Synapse, SQL)
