Motion recruitment has partnered with a client in Fort Worth TX and seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join a high-impact enterprise data team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, data engineering, SQL development, Databricks, and large-scale data platform implementations.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, data engineering, SQL development, Databricks, and large-scale data platform implementations.
Candidates local to Dallas area are preferred as the client requires an onsite interview.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
• Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure and Databricks
• Develop scalable cloud-based data platforms and analytics solutions
• Support data ingestion, transformation, governance, and reporting initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver business-critical data products
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 5-7 years of software development and/or data engineering experience in Agile and DevOps environments
• 5-7 years of hands-on SQL and data analytics experience
• 5-7 years of cloud development and data lake experience, preferably within Microsoft Azure
Required Skills
• Intermediate to Advanced SQL Skills
• Complex joins, subqueries, query optimization, and performance tuning
• Strong experience with large-scale data analytics and reporting
• Databricks Experience
• Spark SQL development
• Databricks notebooks
• Data pipeline development and optimization
• Hands-on experience building scalable data processing solutions
• Strong Communication Skills
• Ability to clearly articulate technical experience
• Comfortable discussing architecture, design decisions, and project contributions during interviews
Preferred Skills
• Strong expertise across the Azure data ecosystem
• Experience with data ingestion, processing, governance, and curation
• Azure native cloud architecture experience
• Airline industry experience is a plus
• Azure Development Certifications preferred
• Apache Spark Certifications preferred
• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and best practices
