Duration: 2+ Months
Location: MN-Minneapolis, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As an Azure Data Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Data Strategy and Intelligence practice and service. This service provides insights into company data, advanced analytics solutions, robust data governance, and tailored solutions for specific data challenges.
Responsibilities
• Technical
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain complex, scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines in Azure
• Implement PySpark transformations for large-scale data processing with Spark pools in Azure Synapse or Databricks
• Automate data ingestion, enrichment, and reconciliation processes with parametrized, reusable, and auditable components
• Solid understanding of relational databases (Azure SQL), and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB)
• Hands-on experience in DevOps environments with CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance
• Familiarity with Databricks
• Ability to work in a hybrid team environment
• Collaboration and Domain Partnership
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers and Enterprise Architects to align design patterns and standards across enterprise data ecosystem
• Partner with data governance team and adhere to data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity and compliance
• Collaborate with analytics teams to understand company needs and ensure our data platform can enable use cases across the business
• Process and Documentation
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all pipelines, data models, and operational procedures
• Prepare data flow diagrams, lineage maps, and control logs for audit reviews
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering with Azure cloud technologies
• Strong proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics and related services
• Hands-on experience in DevOps environments with CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of data, SQL, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with Databricks and Spark (preferred)
• Ability to work in a hybrid team environment
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $145,000 or the hourly equivalent.
