FA โ Onsite 4x a week.
Starting interviews: after new years
Could potentially look at relo candidates with a path to conversion.
Very Specific Role - Niche role with IoT devices โ counters, long range readers, and touch points they have.
Large streaming platform processing large data from those devices
There is an expanding role in this space for a new era of Computer Vision, being able to process things like images coming from cameras for different things like object detection, boundaries, in bound / out of bound.
This JD is geared for that role, this is totally tailored to this type of talent.
Taking IoT platform to the next level โ taking their AI and automation- how to deploy and leverage that information to the next level
NOT an AI / ML position but needs to know how to deploy that
VERY important space for them right now โ looking for this person to help grow these technologies โ not just having the work identified (though that will be part of it) need innovative mindset and grow with the space.
Java and Python are the core technologies that will be part of this โ Cloud experience is a standard for this.
Theyโre asking for 8 years of experience below but this is a SENIOR role โ they cannot manage and teach someone this job- they will be expected to be immediately active hitting the ground running. They wonโt sacrifice years of experience โ this is going to be a small team โ needs to be eager hungry and architects their way forward. Soft skills. There isnโt presentation skill requirement here but good solid team player. Being able to contribute meaningfully โ reviewing teams codes and bringing meaningful information as well as taking that review and adaption.
Not prescriptive of the technologies for the data streaming because they use multiple different ones for different things.
Computer vision technologies are also not prescriptive because itโs going to vary based on devices but with conceptual models and libraries that they would use.
The Sr. Software Engineer will have responsibilities within the team that manages technical delivery for products. This person will be a cross disciplined engineer and problem solver who delivers projects, sustains platforms, and contributes to innovative new products. The Sr. Software Engineer will be contributing to a core platform with real-world impact, operating at scale, and solving technically hard problems that span edge systems, cloud infrastructure, and real-time data processing.
Job Description (Assignment Description):
Design, build, and operate real-time, event-driven systems that ingest and process data from edge devices
Develop backend services and streaming pipelines using Java and Python to transform model outputs into reliable, consumable events
Architect and operate production systems on AWS, with a strong focus on scalability, cost efficiency, observability, and fault tolerance
Build clean, versioned event schemas and APIs that integrate with downstream consumers and external systems
Partner with Machine Learning, hardware, and downstream application teams to operationalize model outputs at scale
Drive technical decisions, write design documentation, and act as an owner for critical components of the platform
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant ownership of distributed, production systems
Strong experience building real-time or streaming data pipelines (event ingestion, aggregation, windowing, and emission)
Deep hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., streaming/messaging, compute, data stores, and infrastructure-as-code)
Expert-level proficiency in Java and strong proficiency in Python
Experience integrating IoT, edge, or computer-vision-adjacent systems into cloud platforms
Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, schema evolution, and downstream consumer integration
Proven ability to design systems that are observable, resilient, and scalable
Strongly Preferred:
Camera-based or computer-vision systems (object detection, counting, zone or boundary detection)
Operating high-visibility systems with strict performance and reliability expectations
Experience with stream processing frameworks or high-throughput messaging systems
Building systems that handle sensitive or privacy-relevant data, with strong security and access controls
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidateโs/applicantโs qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.
