Role description
Job Title: Banking Analyst - Open Banking / PSD2 and Reg Reporting
Contract: initially until 31st December 2026
Location: London
Are you a Business Analyst with Open Banking and Payments / PSD2 experience? I am supporting a Financial Services firm in search of an experienced Business Analyst to join a growing team responsible for regulatory reporting and governance activities across multiple Open Banking frameworks globally.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of payments, compliance, data analysis, and technology, helping ensure regulatory obligations are met while supporting the ongoing performance and reliability of Open Banking services.
What you will be doing
• Gathering and documenting business and functional requirements for Open Banking and payments initiatives
• Working across PSD2 / UK Payment Services Regulations / FCA / EBA frameworks
• Supporting changes across payment schemes including Faster Payments, CHAPS, BACS, SEPA and ISO 20022 messaging
• Producing and maintaining user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements documentation
• Working closely with engineers and architects on API-based payment flows and integrations
• Supporting data analysis and SQL-based validation of payment and regulatory outputs
• Contributing to regulatory reporting, operational governance, and compliance requirements
• Engaging with stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams
What we are looking for
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst (or Payments/Functional Analyst) in financial services
• Strong knowledge of payments systems and transaction flows (Faster Payments, SEPA, CHAPS, BACS, SWIFT, ISO 20022)
• Experience working in Open Banking / PSD2 / FCA / Payment Services Regulations environments
• Ability to write clear business and functional requirements, user stories, and process flows
• Experience working with APIs (REST), data mapping, and integration requirements
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills for validation and reporting support
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum / SAFe)
• Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams

Desirable experience:
• Open Banking, PSD2, CDR, AISP/PISP, or API governance exposure - this is required
• Knowledge of UK, EU, or Australian Open Banking standards.
• Experience establishing reporting processes in newly regulated environments.
• Exposure to API monitoring, observability tooling, or regulatory event tracking frameworks.

• Hybrid working (London, 3 days per week)
• £450 - 500 per day Umbrella DOE
• Immediate start available
