Benefits Analyst
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Pay range: $30–$40/hour
Length: 6–9 Month Contract | Potential for Extension
Are you a benefits professional who enjoys working with data, solving complex problems, and improving the employee experience? We are seeking a highly motivated Benefits Analyst / Benefits Coordinator to support a variety of benefits initiatives, including open enrollment, reporting and analytics, process improvement, and a large-scale ADP implementation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both the strategic and operational side of benefits while partnering with an experienced HR team. The scope of the role can be tailored based on experience, making it an excellent fit for either a seasoned Benefits Analyst or an experienced Benefits Coordinator looking to expand their skill set.
Schedule & Work Environment
• Hybrid schedule: Remote Monday & Friday, onsite Tuesday–Thursday
• 40 hours per week
• Flexible work hours between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Located in San Francisco, CA
What You'll Be Doing
• Analyze benefits data, trends, utilization, and renewal information to support business decisions
• Review and validate broker-provided reports, cost analyses, and recommendations
• Create, maintain, and enhance complex Excel reports, dashboards, and tracking tools
• Prepare presentations, summaries, memos, and supporting materials for benefits committee meetings
• Audit and verify benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support benefits reporting, process improvements, and strategic recommendations
• Manage open enrollment activities, communications, and employee-facing materials
• Update and maintain enrollment forms, benefits guides, and documentation
• Coordinate and administer benefits-related DocuSign workflows
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for a major ADP implementation
• Assist with HR and benefits projects, system enhancements, and ad hoc initiatives
• Serve as a key resource across the benefits function, providing support wherever needed
Required Qualifications
• Benefits administration experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, formulas, and the ability to build spreadsheets and reporting tools from scratch
• Experience analyzing and working with large datasets and complex reports
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity
• Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to new processes and priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to balance analytical work with hands-on benefits administration responsibilities
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Benefits Analyst experience
• Open Enrollment experience within a mid-sized or large organization
• Experience supporting ADP implementations or benefits administration in ADP
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience
• JD Edwards (JDE) experience
• Hubble reporting experience
• Workforce planning, HR analytics, or reporting experience
• Experience supporting benefits audits, renewals, or vendor management initiatives
