BI Architect / Senior BI Developer

We are seeking a hands-on BI Architect / Senior BI Developer with deep expertise in Power BI and Tableau, strong experience integrating BI solutions with web applications, and advanced knowledge of Databricks as the primary analytics platform. The role involves designing scalable BI architectures, developing high-performance dashboards, and enabling secure, transaction-aware analytics on large-scale data platforms. Key Responsibilities BI Architecture & Hands-on Development • Design and implement enterprise-grade BI architecture using Power BI and Tableau on Databricks • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and semantic models • Remain actively involved in hands-on development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting • Define visualization standards, data modeling best practices, and BI governance Databricks & Big Data Platform • Use Databricks as the primary analytics platform • Design optimized data models and aggregates for large-scale datasets • Collaborate with data engineering teams on ETL/ELT pipelines, data quality, and transformations • Enable near-real-time and batch analytics from Databricks to BI tools • Optimize performance for high-volume and high-concurrency BI workloads Power BI & Tableau Integration with Web Applications • Embed Power BI and Tableau dashboards into web applications using: • Power BI Embedded / REST APIs • Tableau Embedded / JavaScript APIs • Implement secure authentication and authorization (SSO, OAuth, token-based access) • Design and enforce row-level and object-level security • Support transaction-aware reporting for user-facing applications Security, Transactions & Governance • Implement data security, governance, and compliance using Unity Catalog and BI tool security models • Design solutions supporting transactional consistency and accuracy • Manage access control, auditing, and data privacy requirements • Ensure secure access for embedded analytics in multi-tenant environments Collaboration & Leadership • Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to translate business needs into BI solutions • Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions • Mentor BI developers and enforce best practices Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power BI Service, Power BI Embedded) • Strong hands-on experience with Tableau (Desktop, Server/Cloud, Embedded Analytics) • Advanced experience with Databricks • Strong SQL and data modeling skills • Experience integrating BI tools with web applications • Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, and security models Data & Analytics • Experience working with large-scale, high-volume datasets • Strong understanding of transactional systems vs analytical reporting • Expertise in performance tuning across Databricks and BI layers
