Role description
BI Developer Location: Remote (occasional London travel) Contract Length: 7 weeks IR35: Outside IR35 Day Rate: £400-£520 per day Start Date: 2nd February Overview The client is experiencing high demand, and the role requires a blend of Power BI development and light analytics engineering capability. The data environment does not yet have a clean, established data layer. The consultant will work in Databricks to pull and shape data before surfacing insights in Power BI, building several new dashboards from scratch. Key Responsibilities • Build new Power BI dashboards from the ground up, working directly from Databricks data sources • Deliver dashboards covering: • Campaign performance • Customer health metrics • Marketing impact and effectiveness • Perform simple ETL and data shaping tasks (circa 20-40% engineering, remainder Power BI) • Gather requirements directly from client stakeholders via regular calls • Provide clear updates to the internal MSQ delivery team • Support dashboard design and usability, ensuring outputs are clear and client-ready • Operate autonomously, joining daily stand-ups and managing workload without close supervision Required Skills & Experience • Strong Power BI experience, including building dashboards from scratch • Experience working with Databricks • SQL or Python for data extraction and transformation • Ability to perform light ETL and data modelling tasks • Strong stakeholder communication skills • Previous experience delivering new dashboard builds, not just maintaining existing reports • Experience working with marketing or customer analytics data
