Role description
We are seeking a senior-level Power BI and SQL Developer to join a dedicated DevOps team for our government client in the child welfare sector. You will be a critical resource in the implementation of a new, comprehensive child welfare information system (CCWIS), playing a key role in report development, data analysis, and the successful conversion of data from a legacy system.
This is a hybrid position requiring you to work onsite four (4) days a week at our client's office in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can work closely with social workers and system developers to identify data quality issues and design processes to ensure data integrity.
Essential Responsibilities:
Gather and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, creating robust data models and data analysis features.
Design, develop, and deploy complex reports and dashboards using Power BI.
Write complex SQL queries and data joins to establish and validate data measures across multiple tables and sources.
Analyze data from various sources and identify processes to ensure information is accurate and validated.
Modify existing reports and develop new ones by analyzing databases, data sources, and structures to meet user needs.
Perform QA analysis on all reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
Manage Azure Data Services, including Synapse/Synapse Links, Azure SQL Pool, and Data Lake.
Collaborate with program staff and vendors to prototype and deploy reports on the Dynamics 365 platform.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of eleven (11) years of hands-on experience with report development and writing complex SQL queries.
A minimum of eleven (11) years of experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience developing complex reports using Power BI.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience with Azure Data Services.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an Agile environment.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with PL/SQL.
Experience with other cloud-based Business Intelligence platforms.
