Position Name: BI Platforms Administrator (Power BI / Microsoft Fabric & Tableau Cloud) Location: Boston, MA Client: One of the world’s largest wealth management firm Click link to Apply: https://candidateportalnew.ceipal.com/job-details/tQqHgEWNBqh5LKJQr7e5PFxRJ9jAWvLOG1hAclAwouY Description: The BI Platforms Administrator will own, operate, and continuously improve the organization’s Business Intelligence platforms across Power BI (including Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform) and Tableau. This role ensures high-quality, secure, and performant BI environments, supports analysts and business users, and leads the migration from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud. Role and Responsibilities: Platform Administration & Operations: Administer Power BI Service / Microsoft Fabric and Tableau Cloud, including support for any legacy Tableau Server environments. Manage workspaces, sites, projects, permissions, RLS/OLS, certification, refresh schedules, and data connectivity (On-premises Data Gateway / Tableau Bridge). Monitor platform health, capacity, usage, and costs; troubleshoot incidents and performance issues. Develop and maintain administration, health, and adoption dashboards. BI Development Standards & Enablement: Build and review semantic models, datasets, dataflows, dashboards, and reports across Power BI and Tableau. Define and enforce standards for data modeling, performance optimization, accessibility, and visualization best practices. Partner with analysts to provide enablement, documentation, and training. Migration & Modernization: Lead the Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud migration, including: Content inventory and cleanup Identity and permissions mapping Tableau Bridge configuration for on-prem data sources Cutover planning and execution Implement GitHub integration for Power BI (pbip), supporting CI/CD through branching strategies, pull requests, deployment pipelines, and GitHub Actions. Governance, Security & Compliance: Collaborate with Security and IT on BI governance, including sensitivity labels, DLP policies, auditing, and access controls. Ensure platforms meet organizational security, compliance, and data protection standards. Core Skills & Qualifications: Power BI & Microsoft Fabric: Strong experience in Power BI administration and development, including: DAX, Power Query (M), semantic models, datasets, and dataflows Deployment pipelines and XMLA endpoint familiarity Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including capacities, workspaces, OneLake concepts, Dataflows Gen2, and awareness of Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures. Basic experience with Power Platform for BI use cases (Power Automate integrations, environment management, DLP awareness). Tableau: Proven Tableau administration experience across Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server, including sites, projects, permissions, extracts, and schedules. Hands-on experience building Tableau dashboards and data sources. Direct experience migrating Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud, including use of Tableau Bridge for on-premises data connectivity. Preferred Qualifications: Β· Experience supporting enterprise-scale BI platforms and multiple business domains. Β· Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
