Role description
Position: BI Developer Location: REMOTE – but must live in PST / MST / CST Duration: 6 month contract, possible extensions Must Haves: β€’ 3+ years of experience as a report writer / BI developer β€’ Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards from scratch β€’ Experience troubleshooting and maintaining SSRS reports β€’ Hands-on experience with Power BI data connectivity (connecting to various data sources) β€’ Proficiency with Power BI Advanced Editor (M code / Power Query transformations) β€’ Experience writing DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, and advanced analytics β€’ Strong experience working with large-scale SQL datasets (millions of rows), including performance optimization and efficient data handling without direct database access β€’ Ability to work with data sources and staging environments to model and transform data for reporting purposes β€’ Experience working with Sharepoint as a data source Plusses: β€’ Government experience β€’ Experience working with permit data β€’ Experience training / mentoring other employees on Power BI Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Power BI Responsibilities β€’ Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports based on business needs β€’ Connect to various data sources using Power BI’s data connectivity tools β€’ Use Power BI Advanced Editor (M code) for complex data transformations β€’ Ensure data accuracy and integrity in Power BI reports β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver insights β€’ Provide support and troubleshooting for Power BI-related issues SSRS Responsibilities β€’ Update and maintain existing SSRS reports to ensure accuracy and relevance β€’ Run SQL queries to gather data for report generation β€’ Modify SQL scripts to meet specific reporting needs β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve SSRS-related issues β€’ Document report development processes and maintain detailed records of client requirements Collaboration & Communication β€’ Work closely with the environmental planning group to develop reports for environmental services β€’ Collaborate with a small team of three, including one senior member β€’ Communicate regularly with clients to understand reporting needs and provide updates Compensation: $45-51hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
