Role description
Job Title: Staff Data Analyst, Talent Acquisition Location: Mountain View, CA or San Diego, CA , Plano, TX. Hybrid: 3 days onsite Job Type: Full-Time Overview: We’re seeking a passionate and data-driven Staff Data Analyst to join our Talent Acquisition Data and Programs team. This individual will serve as an analytics consultant, partnering closely with recruiting leaders and business stakeholders to drive informed decision-making and improve the way we attract, develop, and retain talent. In this role, you’ll transform complex data into accessible insights through intuitive dashboards, self-serve reporting tools, and compelling data storytelling. You’ll own key analytics initiatives from end to end — from requirements gathering and modeling to recommendations and stakeholder communication — helping to optimize recruiting strategies and improve talent outcomes globally. Key Responsibilities: • Design and maintain automated dashboards for key metrics reporting across Talent Acquisition using visualization tools such as Tableau or QuickSight • Extract insights from data and communicate compelling narratives to influence recruiting and business strategy • Build custom reports and in-app reporting capabilities within Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to support self-serve reporting for recruiters and TA leaders • Lead the design, analysis, and interpretation of data projects — from requirement gathering to prototyping and modeling • Segment and extract large datasets from data warehouses using SQL, Alteryx, Excel, and Google Sheets • Manipulate and integrate data from various sources using tools like Alteryx, Power Query, Databricks, or SAS • Collaborate cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition leaders, recruiters, and sourcers to deliver actionable insights and improve the candidate experience • Act as a subject matter expert on TA data for program teams and business partners • Validate and compile data for operational reporting and provide commentary on key trends and performance drivers • Continuously assess and improve tools, processes, and analytics frameworks for maximum impact • Deliver ad hoc and special analytics projects aligned with evolving business priorities Required Skills & Qualifications: • 5–10 years of experience in people analytics, finance, or a related field • Proven expertise in data visualization and dashboard creation using tools like Tableau or QuickSight • Advanced proficiency in SQL and working with large-scale datasets and data warehouses • Experience with data preparation tools such as Alteryx • Experience building reports directly within ATS platforms (Avature experience is a plus) • Strong Excel skills, including data modeling and analysis • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell a story with data • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills Interview Process: 1. 30-minute introductory interview with the hiring manager 1. 60+ minute deep dive with the manager’s leader and team, including a craft demo (please come prepared with an example of your work)
