About The Role
We're hiring a BI Reporting Developer to build and optimize data pipelines and reporting solutions across enterprise datasets. You'll partner with data engineering, platform, and business teams to deliver reliable ETL, robust data models, and actionable reports/dashboards. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in ETL (Ab Initio/Informatica BDE), SAS (EG/UNIX/macros), SQL, and big-data ecosystems (Hadoop/Spark/Hive), and knows how to operate in a highly regulated, production environment.
What you'll do
β’ Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows and data pipelines (Ab Initio or Informatica BDE) feeding enterprise BI/reporting.
β’ Build, optimize, and automate SAS jobs (EG, UNIX, macros) and SQL procedures to support reporting and analytics.
β’ Develop curated datasets/marts on DB2, SQL Server, and Netezza; tune queries and jobs for performance and cost.
β’ Create/maintain Spark/Hive jobs on Hadoop for large-scale batch processing and transformations.
β’ Implement secure file transmissions and batch integrations (NDM Connect:Direct, SFTP, FTP).
β’ Write production-grade UNIX shell and Python scripts for orchestration, QA checks, and monitoring.
β’ Use ESP (or similar scheduler) for job scheduling and dependencies; manage changes/incidents via ServiceNow.
β’ Version and review code in GitHub; follow peer-review, CI/CD, and documentation standards.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and high-quality deliverables.
β’ Support production (on-call rotation as needed), troubleshoot failures, and drive root-cause fixes and resiliency.
Required Qualifications
β’ 6 8 years of hands-on experience in BI/reporting and data engineering roles.
β’ Solid with ETL tools: Ab Initio and/or Informatica BDE.
β’ Strong SAS (EG, UNIX, macro development) and advanced SQL.
β’ Experience with DB2, SQL Server, and Netezza (data modeling, performance tuning).
β’ Scripting with UNIX shell and Python.
β’ Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Hive (batch processing, data lake patterns).
β’ Experience with NDM Connect:Direct, SFTP/FTP for secure file exchanges.
β’ Comfortable with ESP (job scheduling), ServiceNow (ITSM), GitHub, and Microsoft 365.
β’ Strong data quality mindset, documentation habits, and stakeholder communication.
Nice to have
β’ Exposure to COBOL and JCL for mainframe data access/integration.
β’ Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and compliance in regulated environments.
β’ Experience optimizing costs and SLAs for high-volume batch workloads.
Work setup
β’ Fully onsite in Atlanta, GA (5 days/week). Local candidates preferred or willing to relocate at own expense.
β’ Standard business hours; occasional after-hours support during releases or incidents.
Brandon Consulting Associates, Inc. is an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER and has been in business for 29years.
