Billing Data Analyst

Position Title: Billing Data Analyst Location: Remote - Must sit within the US Duration: 11-Month Contract Pay Rate: $30-$37/Hour Overview Join our client’s Sales Enablement team as a Billing Data Analyst, where you’ll ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing by managing billing calculations, validating data, and leveraging approved tools and spreadsheets. Beyond day-to-day billing tasks, you’ll help drive process improvements by identifying automation opportunities and supporting the implementation of solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities • Review billing data and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. • Calculate charges, taxes, credits, and fees using spreadsheet templates and billing models. • Validate rates, service quantities, discounts, and tax codes against contracts and regulatory guidelines. • Enter and submit calculated amounts into invoicing systems to generate accurate, timely invoices. • Reconcile billing data with source systems and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain detailed records of calculations, approvals, and audit trails for compliance. • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Accounting teams to ensure billing accuracy. • Identify manual or repetitive billing tasks suitable for automation. • Partner with technical teams to design and implement automation solutions. • Participate in testing and validating new tools or workflows for compliance and accuracy. • Support month-end close activities and reporting requirements. • Continuously review and recommend improvements to billing workflows, controls, and validation processes. Required Skills & Experience • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets for billing calculations and data validation. • Hands-on experience with invoicing and billing systems. • Exceptional attention to detail for maintaining records and audit trails. • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Experience with Zuora for subscription lifecycle management and revenue recognition. • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as SQL, REST API, and Splunk. Nice-to-Have Skills: • Knowledge of FastBill online invoicing tool.
