Power BI Developer - MI & BI Reporting Setup
Location: Hybrid - up to 2 days a week onsite - Reading or London
Contract Length: 3-6 months (initially 3 months)
Day Rate: £400-450 per day, Outside IR35
Overview
We're seeking a Power BI Developer to establish MI & BI reporting from the ground up. Existing data is structured for operational use rather than reporting, and this role will be central to building standard, optimized reports that consolidate current team reporting needs into a cohesive, modern solution.
Key Responsibilities
• Review existing reports across teams, assess usage and objectives, and consolidate where possible
• Design and develop a suite of standard Power BI reports and dashboards from scratch
• Migrate existing reporting from Grafana to Power BI
• Optimize reports for performance, usability, and ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with various teams and a dedicated data engineer to handle large volumes of data
• Ensure clear documentation and support the adoption of standard reporting assets
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience creating MI & BI reports and dashboards in Power BI
• Strong SQL skills for data preparation and integration
• Ability to consolidate diverse reporting requirements into standardized, user-friendly reports
• Experience working with large datasets in a collaborative environment
• Clear communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders
Preferred Background
• Experience with survey data or fraud data in banking or research sectors
• Projects involving migration of reporting tools (e.g., Grafana to Power BI)
• Track record of standardizing and optimizing reporting frameworks
