We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that research and clinical trial data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready to power scientific discovery, regulatory filings, and advanced AI-driven analytics. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. If you have a strong background in data governance within regulated biotech or life sciences environments and a sharp eye for data quality, we want to hear from you. • Organization: Alignerr • Type: Hourly Contract • Location: Remote • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do • Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions • Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access, security, and metadata across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams • Enable secure, governed access to data for analytics, innovation, and external collaborations while protecting confidential and patient-related information • Identify gaps in data quality and implement standards that support both scientific rigor and compliance requirements • Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business teams to align data workflows and governance frameworks • Support AI training initiatives by ensuring biotech datasets meet high standards of quality, integrity, and trustworthiness Who You Are • Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments • Strong working knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance expectations for research and clinical trial data • Able to bridge the gap between scientific, technical, and compliance stakeholders to drive consistent data standards • Detail-oriented and systematic — you understand that in regulated environments, the integrity of data is everything • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a remote, flexible setting Nice to Have • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, HIPAA, or GDPR as applied to clinical and research data • Background in bioinformatics, clinical data management, or research informatics • Experience working alongside AI or machine learning teams in a data stewardship capacity Why Join Us • Work on cutting-edge AI and life sciences projects alongside leading research labs • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-impact work • Contribute directly to AI initiatives where trustworthy biotech data makes better science possible • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
