Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in Acquiring and Payments to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs with technology solutions, focusing on card acquiring, merchant services, and payment processing. You will work closely with stakeholders across product, operations, compliance, and technology to deliver innovative and compliant payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements related to acquiring and payment systems.
Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
Process Mapping & Optimization
Analyze current payment and acquiring workflows, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
Create detailed process maps, use cases, and user stories.
Project Delivery Support
Work with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
Support UAT planning and execution, including test case creation and defect triage.
Domain Expertise
Provide subject matter expertise in card acquiring, merchant onboarding, transaction routing, settlement, and reconciliation.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., PSD2, PCI-DSS), and emerging technologies in payments.
Stakeholder Management
Facilitate workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate effectively across business and technical teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Payments, specifically in Acquiring (e.g., merchant services, card schemes, PSPs).
Strong understanding of payment flows: authorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, and reconciliation.
Familiarity with payment networks (Visa, Mastercard), ISO 8583, and APIs.
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with payment gateways, POS systems, or e-commerce platforms.
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, AML, KYC).
Technical background or ability to work closely with engineering teams.
Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is a plus.
