Job Title: Business Analyst I Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid) Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday | Remote: Wednesday, Friday Duration: Contract till 08/09/2027 (Possible Extension) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the Utility Integration Business Applications team. This role is responsible for planning and executing integration activities for business systems and processes, including migrating newly acquired utilities from legacy systems into enterprise platforms. The Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, utility representatives, SMEs, and technical teams to gather and document business requirements, develop functional solutions, support testing, training, implementation, and business readiness activities while ensuring business objectives are achieved throughout the integration lifecycle. Key Responsibilities • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for system enhancements and integration projects. • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, stakeholder meetings, and business discussions. • Collaborate with utility teams, SMEs, business users, and technical teams to translate business needs into functional requirements. • Develop functional designs that align with documented business requirements. • Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues. • Document business benefits and validate outcomes with business sponsors. • Perform business impact analysis and support business readiness planning. • Prepare communication plans and communicate system changes and impacts to stakeholders. • Participate in solution design sessions and obtain business approvals. • Partner with functional and technical teams to prepare System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data. • Execute system, regression, and user acceptance testing while validating business requirements. • Support user training by assisting in the development of training materials and documentation. • Provide support during cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities to ensure a successful implementation. • Validate production results and confirm realization of expected business benefits. • Support system enhancement and implementation initiatives as assigned. • Assist with payment and refund process support where applicable. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of Business Analysis or Systems Analysis experience, OR • 7+ years of equivalent operations or field experience. • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements. • Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams. • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. • Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, and requirements sessions. • Strong communication, negotiation, influence, and leadership skills. • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and work effectively in ambiguous environments. • Experience supporting System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and implementation activities. Preferred Qualifications • CBAP Certification or other recognized Business Analysis certification. • Experience within the Utilities industry. • Working knowledge of Operations and Engineering systems. • Experience with Oracle applications. • Financial or Accounting systems experience. • Knowledge of technology implementation methodologies and enterprise system integrations. • Understanding of Distribution Operations or Customer Care processes. Working Conditions • Office-based work environment. • This is a highly visible, business-critical role where workload and stress levels may occasionally be above normal to support project and program objectives. • Ability to travel approximately 15–20% as required, primarily during project phases such as testing, training, cutover, and implementation.
