Role description
Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Alpharetta, GA - Hybrid 3 days onsite
Duration: 6 months with the potential to extend or convert to permanent

Mission
The mission of this role is to serve as the lead technical expert for business requirements, translating complex business needs into detailed technical specifications. The individual's guidance would come from a Product Manager, and they will primarily focus on projects related to leave of absence and claims. They will be the main driver of high-quality functional specifications, ensuring seamless communication between stakeholders and technical teams.
This person Will be working split between the Leave API Integration project and a new AI Initiative.
An A Player in this role will achieve the following:
• Domain Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of claims and leave of absence systems (e.g., FINEOS, EIS) to accelerate project understanding and delivery. This includes actively analyzing business policies and translating them into system configurations.
• API & Data Acumen: Within the first three months, successfully document and analyze at least three major API integrations. This includes a complete interpretation of payloads, data models, and a broader understanding of data mapping and ETL concepts.
• High-Quality Functional Specifications: Consistently produce comprehensive and well-defined functional specifications, user stories, and use case diagrams that meet the standards of an Agile team.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve potential issues in project requirements. By the end of the first year, contribute to a measurable reduction in project rework due to misaligned or incomplete specifications.

• Domain Knowledge: This is a primary "nice to have." Proven expertise with claims or leave of absence products like FINEOS or EIS is highly preferred. Additionally, a background in payroll API functionality is a significant asset.
• Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience working in an Agile environment, including a deep understanding of Scrum or Kanban methodologies and the ability to contribute to sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Technical & Data Aptitude: A strong technical foundation, including the ability to interpret API payloads, data models, and experience with data-related concepts like data mapping and ETL.
Must haves:
• Experience writing user stories, story boarding in an agile environment
• Experience working with Development teams
• Excellent communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Good to have:
• Deep knowledge of healthcare claims like leave of absence and systems like FINEOS, EIS to accelerate project understanding and delivery.
• Prior ADP or health insurance industry experience (think United Healthcare. Blue cross Blue Shield, Aetna, etc.)
• Experience working with the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
