Role description
Akkodis is seeking a Business Analyst- Animal Health/ Life Science for a 6-month contract role with a client in Kalamazoo, MI-Remote. We are looking for someone who has experience working as a Business Analyst and has Software experience with Life Sciences, Consumer Technology, or Animal Health industries. Title: Business Analyst, Companion Animal Location: Kalamazoo, MI-Remote. Contract: 6 Months contract Pay Range: $38-$40/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.) Job Description Business Analyst, Companion Animal, will be responsible for supporting technology and software development initiatives to address business objectives. Supports the definition of technical requirements, organization and planning of software epics and features, and drives the development teams to deliver on time and in-budget. Works cross-functionally to help define and optimize solutions for all aspects of the Companion Animal portfolio. The role requires flexibility to work in a global and highly matrixed team. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Support the implementation, enhancement, and global deployment of companion animal genetic products and predictive algorithms. โ€ข Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Operations, QA, and Engineering teams to facilitate seamless product development, validation, and production rollout. โ€ข Translate business and product requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and development backlogs, supporting Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and PI planning. โ€ข Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, effective communication, and alignment with business priorities. โ€ข Assist in software testing, validation, change management, risk assessments, SOP creation, and documentation to ensure regulatory and quality compliance. โ€ข Monitor system integrations, application performance, and operational dependencies while supporting issue resolution and continuous process improvements. โ€ข Maintain technical and business documentation, including requirements, specifications, traceability matrices, test cases, and deployment documents. โ€ข Support product launches by working closely with Product Management, Technical Services, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams. โ€ข Contribute to data integration, information management, and system standardization initiatives to improve operational efficiency. โ€ข Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including veterinary clinics, diagnostic partners, and pet health platforms, to support technology integration and business objectives. Qualifications: โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. โ€ข 2+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Software Development, Product Implementation, or Project Management. โ€ข Experience in Life Sciences, Animal Health, Healthcare, or Consumer Technology domains is preferred. โ€ข Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and project management principles. โ€ข Experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements. โ€ข Knowledge of data integration, application integration, business process analysis, and information management. โ€ข Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. โ€ข Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions and manage multiple priorities effectively. โ€ข Experience with customer-facing platforms, preferably within the veterinary or pet health ecosystem, is an added advantage.
