Location: Washington, DC 20433
Duration: 3 Months β Long Term
Hybrid Onsite: 4 days per week from Day 1, with a full transition to 100% onsite anticipated soon
SCOPE OF WORK
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst who will play a key role in the implementation and support of a Credit Limits and Ratings Management platform built on a vendor-implemented COTS solution. The platform will integrate closely with the client prospective Treasury system Murex to receive information related counterparty hierarchy, portfolios, and trade data, and will distribute limits and ratings downstream to support pre-trade and post-trade compliance.The successful candidate will act as a key liaison among business stakeholders, vendor teams, and internal IT, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, validated, and delivered in an Agile environment with strong data and integration components.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
β’ Partner with Treasury, Market Risk, Counterparty Management, Credit Risk, and Compliance teams to gather and analyze business requirements related to:
β’ Credit limits and utilization
β’ Counterparty ratings and methodologies
β’ Hierarchies, portfolios, and exposure aggregation
β’ Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and data mappings.
β’ Validate requirements against the COTS platform capabilities and identify configuration vs. customization needs.
β’ Support gap analysis between current-state and future-state processes.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
β’ Work closely with the COTS vendor to:
β’ Clarify requirements
β’ Review solution designs
β’ Validate configurations and delivered functionality
β’ Act as a bridge between vendor teams and internal IT (architecture, development, QA, data, and integration teams).
β’ Facilitate workshops, backlog grooming sessions, sprint reviews, and UAT sessions with business users.
Integration, Data & Downstream Systems
β’ Define requirements for data interfaces between:
β’ Treasury systems (counterparty hierarchy, trades, portfolios)
β’ Credit limits and ratings platform
β’ Downstream pre-trade and post-trade compliance systems
β’ Collaborate with data and integration teams on data models, mappings, controls, and reconciliation rules.
β’ Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of credit-related data flows.
β’ Agile Delivery & Testing
β’ Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
β’ Write high-quality user stories with acceptance criteria.
β’ Support system testing, UAT, defect triage, and business sign-off.
β’ Ensure delivered solutions align with regulatory, audit, and risk governance expectations.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Required Qualifications & Experience
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
β’ 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, preferably in:
β’ Capital Markets
β’ Treasury
β’ Credit Risk
β’ Market Risk
β’ Counterparty Risk
β’ Strong understanding of Capital Markets products and trade lifecycle, including:
β’ OTC and exchange-traded instruments
β’ Counterparty exposure concepts
β’ Portfolio and position aggregation
β’ Strong understanding of:
β’ Credit limits, exposure management, and utilization
β’ Counterparty ratings (internal and external)
β’ Trade lifecycle and portfolio structures
β’ Proven experience working with vendor-implemented COTS platforms.
β’ Hands-on experience in Agile delivery environments.
β’ Experience defining data interfaces and integrations across multiple systems including hands on experience with data analysis and data mapping.
β’ Ability to read and interpret data models, source-to-target mappings, and API/interface specifications.
β’ Strong SQL skills to support data validation and reconciliation.
Preferred Skills & Experience (good to have)
β’ Experience supporting Capital Markets or Treasury Management Systems (TMS).
β’ Knowledge of pre-trade and post-trade compliance processes within Capital Markets environments.
β’ Familiarity with counterparty hierarchy management, legal entities, and netting structures.
β’ Understanding of credit exposure calculations, limits utilization, and ratings usage across trading portfolios.
β’ Experience working with market data providers, ratings agencies, and internal credit models.
